These 103,167 public-source food listings are discovery candidates, not verified business registrations. Independent ownership, current operation, menus, opening hours, and truck positions have not been independently verified. Known corporate brands are screened; regional groups may remain pending ownership review.
Places release 2026-10-21.0. The extraction selects Mexican and Hispanic cuisine categories and explicit cuisine names, retaining the previous taco candidates. Cuisine labels report source categories or name evidence; they do not establish an owner's ethnicity, birthplace, or nationality. Generic Latin, Central American and South American source categories remain as reported. Brazilian-only and unqualified Caribbean, Jamaican, Haitian, Trinidadian, Belizean and Surinamese categories are outside this extraction.
We filtered recognized chains using reviewed name, brand and official-domain rules, retained prior audit exclusions, and screened permanently closed records, low-confidence candidates, nonfood/name collisions and conflicting geography. Fields were standardized and duplicate locations merged. Source confidence concerns place existence; it does not prove independent ownership or present operation. The taco-focused flag is an evidence-based subset, not a claim that every other listing serves no tacos.

The listing manifest contains total and files. Fetch each file path relative to the site root and concatenate its JSON array. Each part is at most 5 MB. All records, cuisine flags and available contact fields are retained.
Full provenance manifest indexes state manifests such as California, Texas, Alaska and Hawaii. Each state manifest contains state, total and files. Evidence downloads are gzip-compressed JSON files (.json.gz), with at most 8 MB of JSON per decompressed part. Download every file listed in the state manifest, decompress it with a gzip utility (for example, gzip -dk part-001.json.gz), then merge the JSON objects keyed by original source ID to reconstruct that state's evidence. Manifests include compressed and uncompressed sizes and SHA-256 checksums. Download a California evidence part. Source IDs, provider records, field-level licenses, and modification evidence are retained; duplicate source records remain available even when locations are combined.
Prior audit exclusions · Cuisine normalization exclusions · Additional merge-stage chain exclusions · Regional-group ownership review queue. Large auxiliary evidence files may also be manifests with total, files and format.
State geometry is derived from the US Census Bureau through us-atlas. D3, TopoJSON, us-atlas and font license notices are retained in vendor/. Impact is used when installed on your device; bundled open-source typefaces provide fallbacks. No Impact font file is redistributed. The map uses local geometry and static data, with no paid map API, live tracking or runtime AI calls.
